Mon, April 08, 2024 | Monday April 8 Early Dismissal 11-30 (related to solar eclipse) 10:30 - 12:30 | Along with most school districts in the Broome-Tioga BOCES region, the Harpursville Central School District will have an early-release day at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, April 8, due to the solar eclipse that will be visible in New York State. The eclipse is scheduled to cast a 97% shadow on our area around the time of our regularly scheduled dismissal. Early dismissal will allow families to avoid any traffic-related issues surrounding the eclipse and give students time to be home to enjoy this once-in-a-lifetime event. Special safety glasses will be given to each student so they can view the eclipse safely. Information about the eclipse and how to view it safely will also be posted online on our website and social media pages. Please remember that it is unsafe to look directly at the sun without specialized eye protection for solar viewing. For more information, CLICK HERE! |
